The Face behind Cole House Design
Nicole Hurst, President of Cole House Design, loves to transform the appearance of any house, whether it be her own, friends, family members, or new clients, and has been doing so for years. As a teen, Nicole loved to redecorate her bedroom, always rotating the furniture and changing the accessories. She worked summers for a landscaping company, where she learned what curb appeal really is.
Realizing she had an eye for colour and design, Nicole obtained her interior decorating degree. She then took her knowledge and creativity, and jumped into the retail fashion industry designing store windows and merchandising displays. After the birth of her first child, Nicole decided to take a hiatus from the design world to be a stay at home parent. Through that time, Nicole enrolled in numerous courses to keep on top of current trends and industry knowledge, and continued to decorate and stage friends’ homes.
Personal Staging Experience
Nicole’s expertise in home staging was evident in the last home she sold. Before the “for sale” sign could be put on the lawn, the house was sold to a very eager buyer who happened to be the first person to walk through it. “The house was completely turn-key, and it sold for over $40,000 more than a similar house only four doors down had, months prior. I had taken a rather plain 1970’s house and turned it into something that showed better, and was much more contemporary, than the local competition.”
