The Imagination Behind Resourceful ReDesigns

Staging Diva presents Lisa Paquette Yee of Resourceful ReDesigns Home Staging and ReDesignLisa Paquette Yee, Lead Designer for Resourceful ReDesigns smiles as she recalls an early design idea: “I thought my Mom’s salads could use a little more appeal so I ‘helpfully’ suggested she cut the veggies into shapes! I don’t recall it going over well.” Yes, even in childhood, Lisa had designer tendencies.

Now, you won’t find Lisa suggesting the design equivalent of radish stars in salads. However, you will still find her fun, likeable and chock-full of resourceful ideas that will engage your imagination and get you enthusiastic about your project.

With a strong value for history and homes, Lisa is passionate about helping people create authentic spaces that tread lightly on the earth and deeply in hearts. A “peaceful warrior”, Lisa works tenaciously to get the right design solutions in place for you.

Living her passion for re-design and home staging, Lisa has personally owned and decorated a broad variety of homes:

  • 1960s bungalow,
  • 1990s two-story new build,
  • 2006 builder show home
  • 1900s heritage home.

Every home Lisa transforms into inviting spaces that welcome and charm. The result? Every home Lisa put on market sold quickly, with multiple offers and brought increasingly higher sale prices (despite market fluctuations and economy).

Why Choose Resourceful ReDesigns?

In Resourceful ReDesigns, Lisa blends her passions with her innate design knowledge and personal real estate experience. To complement this, Lisa completed training from internationally recognized home staging expert, Debra Gould, the Staging Diva®. Lisa also brings an extensive background in Human Resources and business to the table, making her one of those rare creatives – an imaginative designer with an understanding for return on investment and the bottom line.

Home Office to Child's Bedroom

When the buyers purchased this home, their young daughter chose this second floor home office room for her bedroom because she liked the big windows and the green color on the walls. Resourceful ReDesigns was brought in to phase out the "office" feel and bring in the fun, vibrancy better suited to the 6 year old new occupant. The room's paint was in good shape and the new occupant really wanted to keep the color. So we worked with her favorite colors of purple and orange to blend them all together in a more playful theme that suits this budding girly-girl. The silver and purple desk was originally a white and blue dumpster find that our room owner had her mom drag home. Her older (eight year old) sister repaired and rehabbed it for her with the help of Resourceful ReDesigns. The mirror on the wall was rescued from a second hand store and also repainted by her sister as a surprise.

Junk Magnet to Mudroom Magic

This space was unfinished, with no defined purpose and had become a junk magnet. With double french doors onto a backyard covered porch, it’s a natural candidate for repurposing into a highly coveted "mudroom".With exterior views de-cluttered and styled, fresh white trim and a painted blue wainscot with silver metalwork overlay creates a fresh, highly functional system for corralling gear. The existing furniture was stacked and relocated to create more floor room and allow for installation of additional coat racks. Understated rugs and simple artwork reflecting the nature seen outside the French doors completes the look.

Vintage Bathroom Makeover

The client requested a bathroom that was "warm and cozy" with more character to suit the rest of the house's heritage architecture. She specified she must be able to use her favorite shower curtain (seen in the picture) in the warmer months. Clawfoot tub and vanity were to be retained. Playing on the dark rust color in the inspiration curtain, luxe touches in bronze and chrome were added to cozy up the room while adding sparkle and character-rich depth.Attention to detail is what pulls this space together - the existing light fixture was given an update using fabric shades with light refracting beaded trim. The shower curtain rod had seen better days but looks good as new with a polish and flip to show its best side. Even the feet of the tub got a little glam with the claws being highlighted in bronze leafing. The bronze ceiling is inspired by vintage tin tiles but is a simpler pattern suited to this small space. Dentil crown moulding as seen elsewhere in the home was a natural finishing touch. Most details in the new space are re-purposed goods belonging to the homeowner - the only new purchases were the ceiling details, fabric shades, leafing paint and the rug!
