So, you’ve decided to sell your home. You made some repairs, tidied everything up and freshened the paint. Are you presenting your home in the best way possible? Does it have that “WOW” factor?

Buyers are looking for an emotional connection before making the decision to commit. Making your home attractive to buyers is an important key to selling it. From the moment buyers arrive until the moment they leave, they are trying to envision themselves living in your home. Make it easier for them— Stage It First!

Kathryn Somers, President and Creative Director of Stage It First will help you to present your home in a way that will make it impossible for homebuyers not to fall in love with it.

About Kathryn Somers

As a former Esthetician and Make-Up Artist, Kathryn brings her extensive knowledge and background in colour and symmetry to her home staging business.

Kathryn was inspired to start a career in home staging after helping a friend stage her home. “It was so exciting to see the final results. I was hooked! The home sold a few days later,” says Kathryn. “That’s when I knew I had to make this my new career.”

Kathryn is a graduate of the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program. She also enjoys acrylic painting classes with a local artist in her spare time.

What clients are saying about Kathryn Somers and Stage it First

“After two unsuccessful open houses, we knew we had to make changes. Kathy was very helpful; she came in and gave us constructive criticism. She was able to use many of our household items in a way that was appealing to the buyers. Her suggestions of paint colours and furniture placement helped make our house more spacious and updated. By spending very little money, we got a great return on our investment. We got our first offer just a few days after the staging. We sold for the price we wanted. Both buyers and agents were amazed with the transformation. It was a totally different house. We believe if we staged the house before putting it on the market we could have listed it for a higher price.”

Lana Lorenzon (Uxbridge, ON)

“We loved what you did! It’s hard to imagine that just by using our existing furnishings in a new way that you could turn our house into a home that would appeal to any buyer’s tastes. Call Kathy Somers if you want expert advice.”

Bathroom Staging

Before

After

This room was boring and too dark. Buyers don't want to look at your personal items, especially in the bathroom. With just a few simple changes such as adding some greenery and a few decorative items to replace the personal items, the room is tasteful and modern.

Kitchen Staging

Before

After

Although this kitchen was already beautiful, it lacked a pulled together look. It needed a punch colour to break up all the dark cabinets and tile. We added some interesting decorative items, removed all the personal pictures and reminders on the fridge and re-located the large appliances to a cupboard so that we could showcase the spacious countertops.

Bedroom Staging

Before

After

So often we see homeowners who have neglected to decorate their bedrooms because they feel that no one will see it but them. What ends up happening is that it never gets done. This bedroom set was still in good condition but a little dated. We painted it in a dark espresso brown and also gave the end tables an update. New linens, lamps and artwork were added for a contemporary and stylish look; that the homeowner loved and will take away to her new home.
