When calling Eye Luv Décor to schedule a design consultation with Sara LaPalme, she will often reference keeping an open mind. Her expertise in the latest design trends, color schemes, and the layout of a room are targeted to give a prospective home buyer and current homeowner the wow factor and functionality they are looking for. In her own words, “I love taking something old, and making it new, fresh and functional again”.
Since Sara was a young girl, she loved decorating rooms in her childhood home. Always wanting to change her bedroom around. During the holiday’s she would design and implement ideas so that the house looked beautiful for guests each year. Sara developed an interest early in life looking at the architecture of a house and how the inside spaces were laid out.
At 22 years old, she obtained her real estate license. At the time Real Estate Home Staging was not a business option. When looking at perspective listings she strongly encouraged her client(s) to make their house look its best! Often suggesting small changes that would help their house look “show ready” for open houses, and for prospective buyers calling in for a personal showing. The clients who took the advice always sold their house faster, and for the market value listed, and they thanked her in the end.
At age 28 she opened an upholstery business with her late husband doing mostly car interiors. When business was slow, she worked on small furniture upholstery jobs; individually helping clients pick fabric, texture, color, and design. She would help friends update their own homes using the latest design/layout trends. Recommending artwork, wall coverings and paint color, window treatments, area rugs, and accessories to design the room of their dreams. She enjoyed the creative outlet and the freedom her friends gave her to improve the look and use of the spaces in their homes.
Today having the experience in the real estate market, upholstery business and designing rooms for her family and friends she started Eye Luv Decor Real Estate Home Staging business. She focuses on improving the properties appearance and functionality by transforming the space making it welcoming and attractive. As she says, “The front door entry is just as important as what is on the inside of the home. A mowed/manicured lawn is a must!
Design is thinking made visible, sometimes simple changes such as a wreath on the door, outdoor plants or welcome mat in the entry can go a long way!” Her professional, outgoing and helpful personality makes her a pleasure to work with. Sara has innovative, out of the box, and creative ideas to improve the appeal and functionality of a space.
