Finding the right Home Stager

Here are the steps to finding the right Home Stager to help decorate your home to sell

Step 1:

Search for a home stager in your city, using the Search box on the left of this page. If you don’t find any listings under that location and you are very close to other cities, you might try searching on those names as well.

Step 2:

Review the complete listings for any home stagers in your area. Pay attention to their before and after photos and what they say about their business.

Step 3:

After reviewing the Home Stager’s portfolio, email or call to set up a telephone interview. Make sure you feel comfortable with the Home Stager before inviting them to your home for a Home Staging Consultation.

What you should be listening for during the interview:

* Do I feel comfortable speaking with this Home Stager?
* Does this Home Stager listen well?
* Does this Home Stager seem to understand my needs?
* Does the Home Stager sound confident and interested in my project?
* Does the Home Stager come well-recommended or does their portfolio suggest they know what to do?
* Is she/he clear when explaining how she/he works and what the fees are?
* Is the Home Stager available when I need them?

Step 4:

If you are considering more than one home stager for your area, compare your notes on each and decide who you are most comfortable with for all the reasons discussed in Step 3.

Final Advice:

Do not hire a Home Stager based solely on price! As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.

Saving a hundred dollars for a consultation can cost you thousands if you don’t get the same quality advice.

A real professional will charge you for the initial consultation. Be suspicious of anyone willing to come to your home and give you a “free estimate”. Home Stagers should be charging for their time and their expertise; if they aren’t you should question the quality of the information you receive.
