When it’s time to decorate your home to sell, you want to hire a home stager you’re comfortable with.
Preparing and putting your home on the real estate market is a stressful time.
The right home stager will not only be able to stage your home— so it sells faster and for more money— they’ll be a pleasure to work with.
Step 1 – Finding a Local Home Stager:
Search for a home stager in your city, county or neighborhood, using the Search Box on the right of this page.
If you don’t find any listings under that location, and you’re close to other cities, try searching on those names as well.
Note that the home stagers in this directory will also do virtual consultations. They don’t have to be in your geographic area if you’re comfortable working with them over the phone or in a FaceTime or Zoom call.
You can see the full list of everyone in this directory here.
If you want to work with someone local and you don’t see any directory listings, you can use our FREE Home Stager Locator Service.
We have a worldwide network of Staging Diva Professional Home Stagers. Through the Locator Service, we’ll put you in touch with someone in your area.
Step 2 – Review the Home Stager’s Work:
Review the complete listings for any home stagers in your area. Pay attention to their before and after photos, and what they say about their business.
(If there are no listing for your city/surrounding area, use the Staging Diva Locator Service.)
Step 3 – Interview the Home Stager:
Staging Diva Professional Home Stagers don’t come to your home to do free estimates. Once they’re in your home, they’ll advise how to prepare your home for the real estate market, also known as a Home Staging Consultation.
After reviewing the home stager’s portfolio, interview them to see if it’s a good fit. This is typically done by phone. It’s your chance to get to know each other prior to booking a paid consultation.
During the interview, notice:
- Are you comfortable speaking with this Home Stager?
- Does this person listen well and seem to understand your needs?
- Do they sound confident and interested in your project?
- Do they come well-recommended or does their portfolio suggest they have the talent you’re looking for?
- Did you get a clear explanation of how they work and what the fees are?
- Is the home stager available when you need them?
Step 4 – Choosing Your Home Stager:
If you are considering more than one home stager for your area, compare your notes on each. Decide who you’re most comfortable with for the reasons discussed in Step 3.
Additional Advice:
Do not hire a Home Stager based solely on price! As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
Saving $100 or even $500 on a home staging consultation can cost you thousands, if you don’t get the same quality advice from the less expensive stager.
A real professional will charge you for the initial consultation. Be suspicious of anyone willing to come to your home and give you a “free estimate”. Home Stagers should be charging for their time and their expertise; if they aren’t you should question the quality of the information you receive.
Ask about the Staging Diva Professional Home Stager’s rates and payment policies when booking the appointment.
Everyone listed in the Staging Diva Directory of Home Stagers are Graduates of the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program.
This means they’ve learned how to: organize their business, conduct a thorough and effective home staging consultation, price and market their services, source additional services (example: painter, handyman etc.), choose the best furniture and accessories when needed, and the importance of dealing with clients with honesty and integrity.
All Staging Diva Professional Home Stagers are independent business owners. Six Elements Design Group Inc. and Staging Diva do not guarantee their services.
It’s up to you to evaluate any person you are considering. Make your own decision about whether they are right for your needs.
