About Jayne Steuart
Jayne has been designing and decorating homes and businesses for 20 years. Her talents have taken her to New York, Seattle, Scottsdale, San Francisco, Denver, and internationally to Jamaica and Mexico. She is a graduate of the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Program. Jayne has lived in Grand Junction, Colorado for 12 years and is now focusing her skills in the community she loves.
Jayne’s design style is welcoming, warm and friendly. With her hallmark “magical” touch, she can transform your home into an inviting place that buyers will find hard to resist. Her understanding of the real estate market gives her an advantage when staging homes to sell. “Our home is our most sacred space”, says Jayne. “It is where we love, laugh, cry, contemplate, celebrate, and nurture those who are dear to us. My passion is staging homes where prospective buyers walk in and immediately say, “I can see myself living here. I want to live here!”
How it Works
Within as little as 2-3 hours with Jayne, you will have begun the process of staging your home! Jayne will walk with you from room to room, re-arranging as time permits, and give you a comprehensive plan of action. She will share with you her secrets for furniture placement, paint color (if needed), cleaning and de-cluttering, space management, curb appeal, and more. Her keen eye for design will have you seeing your home from a potential buyer’s perspective. She will also share her ’survival tips’ for keeping your newly staged home looking great.
At the end of the paid consultation, you can decide if you want to take on the remaining improvements yourself, or hire Jayne to do it for you. Either way, with her expert guidance, your home will soon rise to the top of the most wanted list!
Redesign
Where home staging is all about appealing to potential buyers, redesign is all about you! Your home, your style, your stuff! Maybe you feel ’stuck’ in the same old decorating pattern that you’ve had for years. Or maybe you have run out of time and ideas. Jayne can give a fresh new look to your entire home, or the rooms you choose, using as much of your own furniture and accessories as you want. She will help you define your design style. Best of all, Jayne will stick to your budget.

This outdated and small bathroom was a combination of clutter and mismatched decor. Not a room you would want a potential buyer to see! Jayne put together an updated color palette of soft gray and white, replaced the hardware, and positioned mirrors to visually enlarge the space. A new chandelier replaces the old vanity lights for a touch of elegance. Now this small bathroom sparkles and pulls you in for a closer look!

This bedroom was "staged" with only a bed and outdated bedding. The placement of the bed actually makes this 13'x14' room look small. Jaynes choice of relaxing colors and appointments turned this bedroom into an inviting and tranquil oasis! The room now celebrates it's size with freshly painted walls and trim, new soft linens, and furniture borrowed from other rooms of the house. The large window looks even bigger with soft chenille panels and silky sheers. Home hunters can now visualize this space being suitable for children or adults.

The family room in this photo looked like an obstacle course! The large map mural towered over the room, making making it feel unbalanced. The owners unfinished projects had prospective buyers adding up the cost of finishing it. Jayne immediately went to work opening up the space by re-arranging the furniture, creating a new focal point behind the sofa, adding rich brown and white panels and sheers on each side of the large window, and new sofa pillows to spread color throughout the room. Jayne turned this family/living room into a colorful place that invites you in to sit.. and stay awhile!
